Hi, I am Carla Seirlis,

With the largest debtor database in the Building and Construction Industry sector in Australia, BICB assists credit managers, in real time, to analyse payment trends and credit risk to avoid incurring a bad debt.

I am truly passionate about this industry sector and credit risk management issues. Prior to taking up the role of the Executive Director of BICB, I worked as an AR/Credit Manager for over 23 years. 10 ½ of those years was in the building and construction industry for large national suppliers, who were members of BICB.

Terms & Conditions

In making application for membership of the Building Industry Credit Bureau, I acknowledge that I have read each of the following statements (the Terms and Conditions) and that I am in a position to confirm that the company will abide with each one.

  • Agree to furnish to BICB, for the confidential use of BICB, a list of sums owed at the end of each month by our Commercial Customers which includes builders, sub-contractors, resellers and other such users of building materials, with whom I/we trade, and such other as BICB may require from time to time in relation to debtors and I/we will supply any such information in such manner as BICB may from time to time determine for its effective operation and fulfilment of its objectives.
  • Agree to take all reasonable care to prevent any unauthorised person having access to any documentation of information supplied by BICB to me/us by placing or reposing the same in the keeping of a responsible person who shall divulge their contents.
  • Shall keep with complete secrecy all confidential information entrusted to me/us and shall not use or attempt to use any such information in any manner which may injure or cause loss either directly or indirectly to BICB or any of its members.
  • Shall continue to observe our undertakings of confidentiality after we cease to be a member of BICB without limit in point of time.
  • Agree that any information supplied by BICB or any of its members is to be used only for the purpose of risk assessment and no other purpose, and that BICB and its members are not engaged in rendering legal, accounting professional or other advice or services.
  • Agree that in furnishing information to me/us from time to time, BICB can accept no responsibility for errors, omissions or possibly misleading statements or information or for any action taken by me/us as a result of such communicated material.
  • Agree to pay the joining fee and annual subscription as prescribed from time to time (including GST where applicable).
  • Authorise the entry of my/our name on the Register of Members.

Privacy

Privacy is a major area of concern for all members of BICB. The data is only useful when all members make all of their data available, and members will only do that if they can be assured that all members will abide by the same strict protocols of privacy.

For this reason, your application can only be considered after you have downloaded the Declaration of Privacy available on this page; signed it; and returned it through the File Upload facility which is available in two separate places on this website:

Subscription Estimate

Subscriptions are invoiced every six months and the first invoice includes a once-off Setup Charge.



The Annual Membership Subscription will be set by negotiation.
